Why I Created the Vibes Instead of Traditional Collections

When I started rebuilding Culture Vibes, I knew I didn’t want the collections to feel like categories women had to fit into.

Because Black women are not one thing.

We can be soft and ambitious. Healing and joyful. Setting boundaries and still loving deeply. Starting over and flourishing at the same time.

That is where the Vibes came from.

Becoming.
Knowing My Worth.
Flourishing.
Softness.
Choosing Joy.
Love Letters.
Setting Boundaries.
For the Culture.

They are not personality types. They are not labels. And you are not supposed to pick one and stay there forever.

They are reflections of the seasons we move through.

Some days you may feel deeply rooted in Softness. Another season may have you Becoming all over again. You may be Choosing Joy while simultaneously learning to protect your peace.

That is life.

And honestly, that is the part of Black womanhood I wanted Culture Vibes to make room for.

I didn’t want to build collections that simply grouped similar shirts together. I wanted each Vibe to hold a feeling, a story, and eventually an entire experience.

The apparel is one expression of it.

But over time, I can see the Vibes becoming playlists, conversations, journal prompts, events, collaborations, and other little ways we get to recognize ourselves in the brand.

Because the bigger idea behind Culture Vibes has always been simple:

There is no one way to be her.

We change. We grow. We rest. We begin again.

And we are allowed to be all of it.
